Swami Vivekananda Memorial is a grand memorial was built in 1970 the unique structure is a blend of various architectural styles of India. The memorial is on one of the twin rocks jutting out from the sea about 200 meters offshore. It is dedicated to Swami Vivekananda, the saint, philosopher, and greatest social reformer of India. This is the place where Swami Vivekananda had meditated on the rock. A meditation hall is also attached with this memorial. Visiting time are 8 am to 4 pm. Just close to the Vivekananda Rock is another rock called Sripada Parai, means the rock that has been blessed by the touch of goddess feet. There are frequent ferries services operated by Poompuhar Shipping Corporation from the seashore to the rock memorial at regular intervals.
